This is based on a true story of a woman whom, as as a 6 yr old British girl, was placed in a German internment camp. It is part of WW 2 history I have never heard about and was well told. Unfortunately they used AI narration which made the story hard to listen to. I put up with the voice just to hear the end of the story. It would have been so much better if they could have had 2 narrators, one for Sara and a British voice for Jill. If you can put up with the AI, it is a good book.

Very good story, horrible narration

The AI reader really annoyed me with the many mispronounced words. The story was supposed to be about an English girl’s experience in prison camp during WW2 and it did eventually tell her story but the main focus of the book was another modern girl and her troubles. I felt like the title details were very misleading.

This book started out strong, but ended up being such a disappointment. It felt more like it was written by ChatGPT than an actual author.

AI was so disappointing
