She's mad, bad, and dangerous to know . . . and even more dangerous to resist.

Daniela Rames cares nothing for the haute-ton or their rules of decorum. When she is unexpectedly torn from the life and home she knew, she throws caution to the wind and follows her dream of working with horses . . . by disguising herself as a boy and becoming a racetrack rider.

The racetrack can be deadly . . . but so is the bedroom.

Eric Weathers, Earl of Fordham, needs his new racing ventures to be successful in order to save his crumbling estate. But when he discovers his talented new rider is actually a brazen young woman in disguise, their quarrel ends with a passionate kiss . . . and marks the beginning of a scandalous liaison.

Determined to possess her in every way possible . . .

Flying in the face of propriety, the earl caves to all-consuming desire, taking Daniela into his bed and shamelessly claiming her, body and soul.

But as the wild rogue tumbles into love with his innocent beauty, a nefarious plot is spun that could soon destroy them both. Soon Eric and Daniela's undying passion for one another becomes the fatal weakness that could separate them forever . . .

This book was enjoyable. Of course there were the miscommunications and secrets (to protect her, of course) driving the plot, but I am used to that even if it is annoying. But there was a plot here: a bit of intrigue, danger, romance, and a large dollop of spice that doesn't overpower the rest. However, the danger and mystery just got... Well, swept under the rug until the next book. Which is about a new couple.

I checked out some of the blurbs and reviews upcoming in the series and apparently the 'danger' and who-done-it is not dealt with until Book 6. So that's dissappointing.

I don't think thats a deal breaker to get started on this book, just a bit of warning. If you want a standalone tied up with a tidy little bow at the conclusion, you will not find it here. But the Earl and Dannie's story is nicely concluded, I suppose. Of course now I am committed to their horse winning all the races, and don't particularly want to get attached to another couple. Plus, I can't say this series is worth half a year's worth of Audible credits to me, so I will not continue reading here in audio format anyway.

Still, not a bad story at all. I liked it.

Where's the ending?!
