When Captain John Banks and his squad are sent to investigate a derelict Nazi base in Antarctica, he expects to find only ice and dead men. But there is something in the domed hangar bay that has been waiting for decades for release.

A weapon was primed many years before. It had been meant to turn the tide of war.

Now it stirs under the ice once more.

I remember one of the first times I watched Doctor Who.
I was maybe 14.
So, it was 1975. (about)
I was in the midwest.
I was also in riveting culture shock watching the intelligent & tense action.

This audio-book awoke all those feelings of:
"Wow! I have no real grasp of what I'm watching but I can't wait to see what the heck is going to happen next!"

Recommended.

Imaginative English-Style Sci-Fi Horror adventure

An inhospitable environment, threats from beyond the grave, and Scottish soldiers kicking Nazi butt! Meikle spins an amazing story that is even better with Scotts accents!

Terrific second book in the series!

This was never a series that would win any prizes, but the first book promised some easy, fun monster killing action. The second book did not deliver.

Combine this with a narrator that sounds like he's had the English language explained to him, but his personal experience in speaking the language can be measured in minutes.
