It was supposed to be a simple mission. A suspected Russian spy boat is in trouble in Canadian waters. Investigate and report are the orders.

But when Captain John Banks and his squad arrive, it is to find an empty vessel, and a scene of bloody mayhem.

Soon they are in a fight for their lives, for there are things in the icy seas off Baffin Island, scuttling, hungry things with a taste for human flesh.

They are swarming.

And they are growing.

Great characters, scary situation, good ole B movie monster fun. Loved the valor and empathy of the soldiers. Stellar narration. Enjoy! 😊

Great monster goodness

It was okay, a bit hard to get into but I made it to the end. It’s another good ole sea monster story but it was a good listen. The English accent is off as my wife is British and she couldn’t figure out a bunch of what they where saying but other than that a good listen.

All around good story, made even better by the narrator. Well written with great characters.

Loved this narrator!

A few notes:

1.) A well written horror / action novel.
Imaginative, suspenseful, scary, a bit gory, nevertheless, enough quick pacing & humanity to keep it exciting not depressing.

2.) Characters & narration.
Graham Mack gives a good performance with calm narration plus a serious Commander, then… slams into the loud Irish brogue of young, overly-excited, brave & good-hearted, commandos.
At times, I must say, the abrupt change gave me a slight headache - much as I imagine it would their real commander.

3.) The story moves so fast I got lost a few times on the first listening. All the same, it was so intriguing that I didn’t want to stop & go back.
After I was finished the first time, I gave it a second listen and got all the who-what-when-where-and why’s.

4.) Recommended.
