This is fecking serious, so it is!
Bishop's Point is about to face its biggest crisis since the distempered badgers attacked. Father O'Riley and Father O'Malley are all that stand in the devil's way. The forces of Hell descend upon the sleepy Irish town en masse, but they were not expecting the good fathers to lead a rebellion against them.

I received a complimentary copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The book revolves around two priests, Father O’Riley and Father O’Malley who reside at the aptly named “ Bishop’s Point.” A few local farmers obtain a volume of what appears to be demonology from the parish - what a book of demonology is doing in the library of two Catholic priests is anyone’s guess.
Nevertheless, the farmers “accidentally” succeed in opening a portal to purgatory and all hell is released…literally!
The priests and farmers are flung into a battle involving hellhounds, demons, and even the devil himself appears to stake his claim in taking over the world with his diabolical plan.
Surprisingly, one of the Father’s takes to it as a duck takes to water.
“ What in the ding dong doodlebug has gotten into Father O’Riley…” is the remark, describing his newly discovered ability to fight off the demons. It all comes out in the wash, so to speak, but will the Father’s ever be the same again?
Simon Carr has composed yet another uproarious piece of fiction that evokes memories of the bumbling priests of Craggy Island - Father Ted and Father Dougal, not to mention the colourful language that was Father Jack, ( including the Easter egg of My Lovely Horse!) If you don’t find puns concerning religion etc, then this is not for you.
I listened to the audio version and couldn’t refrain from laughing or listening. There are musical introductions at the beginning of each new chapter along with a verbal presentation and even that has its own finesse, which displays great attention to detail for an audiobook. The combination of a great narrator and a brilliantly funny book makes for a marvellous listening experience. Justin Mills brings the characters to life with his own personal demonstration of each character and wonderfully fitting sound effects.
The unique style of Simon Carr blends perfectly with the narration of verbal expressions and won’t fail to leave you in hysterics.
Will keep you entertained start to finish!
