The year is 1980, and Mount St. Helens hasn't erupted in over one hundred years. Surely, it won't happen now?

Volcanologist Nova "Cano" Kane is the first to volunteer when the rumblings start, even if it means she'll have to face her biggest regret. When Cano fled Seattle four years ago, she left behind the woman she's never been able to forget.

Geology professor Dr. Allison Albright has spent four years learning to live with Multiple Sclerosis and without Nova. Now her ex has waltzed back into Allison's university and the tension between them is building like that inside the restless mountain.

As the women work together to overcome the limitations of science and short-sighted politicians, they struggle with their past. Is there any way to heal? Move on?

It's a race against time in this edge-of-the-seat lesbian romance. Which will erupt first—Mount St. Helens or their feelings for each other?

This is an outstanding audio book! Rita Potter has taken a tragic event from my youth and masterfully woven in a second chance love story. The facts are amazing. The characters are amazing. The narration is amazing.

Should be more than 5 stars

I have purchased several Rita Potter books, but this is the first one that I've listened to. It's a beautiful love story - and a historical reference back to the 1980 eruption of Mout St. Helens. It also gave me a peak into my spouse's world, and what it could couldn't have looked like at her time - I could imagine her resembling Cano in their heyday. If you liked this book, historical references, natural disasters, I'd recommend books like Indigo: Storm by Adrian J. Smith and Shaken to the Core Shaken to the Core by Jae. I look forward to checking out another book by Rita Potter! Jessie Elwyn narrates this book well.

Enjoyed this Story more than I expected

I usually like books written by Rita Potter, this one although I could relate to the subject very much, was not her best work. In addition the narrator was not the best I heard on audio.

Not as I thought.
