In Mammina's first fairy tale novel, the theories of justice and corruption are tested. This tale is about a ghostly knight named Spirit Warrior who dared to defend his own people against an assortment of villains, including that of an evil corrupt king and a vengeful sorcerer. In a quest to secure justice and peace, Spirit Warrior selflessly challenges all obstacles at once--giving rise to this classic saga.

I probably should not be writing this review. I am not a YA, rather, I'm an OA (Old Adult). The narrator is a perfect choice for this book. I can recommend this book for it's intended audience. Now for the obligatory: "I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review."

Great YA Fantasy

Spirit warrior is put through the test after dying and being trained to exact revenge on the king who rules harshly and treats his people like pawns. Will he kill the king or find another way? Will the princess find a way to get around her fathers rule and not be just a pawn in his game? Will the people ever find peace?

Tale for the ages

This is an interesting and entertaining folktale aimed at YA audiences. That said, as a "mature" reader, I think it can be enjoyed by all audiences. Parental guidance is suggested for young audiences as there are scenes involving death and violence, but there is no graphic violence. The tale tells of the annual retelling of the story of "Spirit Warrior," who was killed as a boy, then resurrected to wreak vengeance on a mad and wicked king. But Spirit Warrior finds a higher calling in the non-violent protection of his people. He experiences love, and has to decide whether he will kill the king or follow his own path to justice. The fight scenes were a little confusing to me sometimes, but overall the story was enjoyable and easy to listen to.

The narration was good and well-paced.

I was immediately captivated by this legendary tale about Spirit Warrior.
Engaging story, and the narration was well done and really gave the story life.
I was drawn into their world and had to keep remembering I was in traffic on my way home :)

I'd be interested in more from both author and narrator, very nicely done and I'd recommend it to friends & family :)

First, you have to get used to this author's writing style. It was a quick read once you get used to the dialect. The narration was very good. This author did a great job with his characters and plot. This was my first book by this author but I will be looking forward to reading other books by him.
