Opposites attract in this magical, delightful contemporary romance from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Say You'll Remember Me.

After a wild bet, gourmet grilled-cheese sandwich, and cuddle with a baby goat, Alexis Montgomery has had her world turned upside down. The cause: Daniel Grant, a ridiculously hot carpenter who’s ten years younger than her and as casual as they come—the complete opposite of sophisticated city-girl Alexis. And yet their chemistry is undeniable.

While her ultra-wealthy parents want her to carry on the family legacy of world-renowned surgeons, Alexis doesn’t need glory or fame. She’s fine with being a “mere” ER doctor. And every minute she spends with Daniel and the tight-knit town where he lives, she’s discovering just what’s really important. Yet letting their relationship become anything more than a short-term fling would mean turning her back on her family and giving up the opportunity to help thousands of people.

Bringing Daniel into her world is impossible, and yet she can’t just give up the joy she’s found with him either. With so many differences between them, how can Alexis possibly choose between her world and his?

PART OF YOUR WORLD PACKS A POWERFUL MESSAGE INTO A DELICIOUSLY SWEET ROM-COM

Long before I devoured her debut novel The Friend Zone, Abby Jimenez had a fan in me because of a cake. Both a romance author and the owner of a bakery called Nadia Cakes, Jimenez was responding to a flurry of comments about a geode cake gone wrong—and her sassy, hilarious responses went viral in the best way. From the moment I saw that early audio for Part of Your World was in my library, I dropped everything I was doing, ignored my overflowing TBLT, and started to listen to what would become my favorite of all of her novels.

This dual POV rom-com follows Alexis Montgomery, a city girl who gets stuck in a ditch in the small town of Wakan. She receives help from a handsome stranger, Daniel Grant, and the two end up spending the night together. What starts as a fling soon turns into much more, as Alexis finds herself caught between her demanding family and their legacy at Royaume Northwestern Hospital, and her growing feelings for Daniel. As their relationship deepens, Alexis is faced with a difficult decision—continue to pursue her family's medical legacy or choose a new path with Daniel in Wakan.

I cannot, and will not, ignore the supporting characters in Part of Your World, especially because one of them (Brianna) is the protagonist in the second book of the Part of Your World Trilogy, Yours Truly. The rest of the cast consists of a baby goat in pajamas, a very silly man named Doug, a deaf Pudelpointer, and a pig known as Kevin Bacon—all there for comedic relief, and boy do they deliver!

Aside from the romance, what I loved the most about the story is how authentic Abby Jimenez is in her writing, all while delving into some serious topics. One of Abby’s objectives for Part of Your World was educating her audience on the different aspects of abuse that are not often discussed by putting the listener right in the brain of someone living through it. Through Alexis's journey, we see how emotional abuse can impact how someone approaches not just the decisions they make but the way that they love in the future too. The novel also explores themes of friendship, heartbreak, and the desire to escape, all while delivering a powerful message that "grace costs you nothing."

I loved it as much this time as the first.
Abby is the best! Great stories. I bought this book for my BFF and she just finished. She could not stop talking about it.
Her daughter bought her the next book and now I’m gonna have to listen to that one again so she and I can talk about it while it’s fresh in my head.

Dear Abby,

Thank you for giving us much needed space and freedom to acknowledge the myriad ways abuse exists- from insidious to overt.

Thank you also for giving us all the warm feels wrapped up in unapologetic love, the kind that stands up against the world.

I have only ever immediately re"read" one book, this is my second. And I think the first to be read immediately for the 3rd time. There are so many simply stated complex truths expertly woven from beginning to end.

These words have become the artillery in my war to reclaim myself.

Forever in gratitude.

Thank You Abby.

This story was amazing. I hesitated to listen because I didn’t want anymore sadness in life. But, I’m glad I did. I love Julia Whelan’s work. Didn’t much care for the portions read by the male narrator, but the story was great and so was Julia.

So good!

Great daily deal for four dollars. You get to good narrators, of course Miss Whalen's male voice is really yummy as she deepen it from 2014 on. Do not miss Karen Robards guardian series, tops. This author has a message in this book, which if you recognize yourself, Then she has succeeded in writing a great book. If you love fairytale stories e.g. Cinderfella, enjoy. If you are doubting of yourself, take heart and push forward. This author writes with humor Eg kid in PJ’s and Kevin Bacon, so l will seek out her other reads when on sale as those narrators are not in my top favorite category.
