From the Foreword: “Party of One is more than just another reflective rambling from another comedian. It's a brutal, coming-of-rage memoir that takes you through Landau's youth around the Motor City. His difficult family dynamic; his struggles with addiction; his desire to be accepted, forgiven, and not forgotten. He's done a hell of a lot of living for a guy this young and Landau knows how lucky he was to come out the other side. And that journey purged not only a brilliant stand-up but a prolific author granting us a window into his past that will connect all the dots from teen addict to sober warrior to successful comedian." — Brad Garrett, Emmy Award-winning actor, comedian, and author

This book is honest, funny, and heartfelt. I really enjoyed how descriptive it was. It made me feel like I was in it. Being from the same area and the same era it was very relatable. I would have enjoyed a bit more detail about the journey to sobriety. Maybe a sequel? 😉♥️👍🏻

Dave always brings the entertaining stories, even if they are hilarious or heartbreaking. There were a few editing errors in the audio but It gave it an extra feel of authenticity. Dave lived a life that was fast and difficult in his teenage years and young adult life which is relatable to me. In a world that’s obsessed with being inauthentic, this book reminded me that life is messy, sad, funny, and heartbreaking. Dave is a class act, a great comedian, a loving father, and an overcomer. Great listen.

Dave is always brilliant.

I read the book and got the audio version so I could actually hear Dave tell the story of his life. It's like seeing an even more raw and unfiltered version of his comedy act. You'll be blown away by what he did, what he went through, and how he survived. Open, honest and hilarious. Highly recommended!
