Global icon Liza Minnelli shares her inspiring story: stepping out from the long shadow of a mega-star mother and legendary film director father, fighting a lifetime battle with addiction, and emerging from it all to become a once-in-a-lifetime artist.

Kids, Wait Till You Hear This! is the autobiography of EGOT icon Liza Minnelli. This fascinating, untold story reveals the intimate truth of the only child born to Hollywood legends Vincente Minnelli and Judy Garland. For the first time, here is Liza up close: Raw, strong, sexy, hilarious and heartbreaking.

Liza decided at the age of 16 that “sympathy is my mother’s business. I give people joy.” That veil of joy, however, masks a lifelong struggle with Substance Use Disorder ("SUD," which Liza inherited from her mother's branch of her family), boundless love to give and an equal need to receive it, broken marriages, multiple miscarriages, and hospitalizations—the highs and lows of unparalleled artistic success and lifelong friendships, as well as chronic anxiety and the threat of financial ruin.

Despite every challenge, Liza’s is a life wrapped in laughter and her tremendous capacity to give and receive love. Today at nearly 80, she opens her heart, mind and memories, sharing secrets we never knew. Liza’s book celebrates supreme artistry and, more importantly, her human rights activism.

“It’s time to tell the truth," Liza says, “and help people heal, as I have, one day at a time.”

The narration was horrible. I've heard it's AI- sounds like she should sound at times, but it's janky and so annoying that every "g"is dropped from words ending in "ing". Overall a very interesting life and story, I just wish I would've read the physical book instead.

she's lived an amazing life, iffy narration

She’s real, talented, and has told her life story vulnerably, unapologetically, with courage and humor.

I just love Liza ❤️

I couldn’t wait for Liza’s book to come out. I decided I wanted to hear her tell it in her own words, rather then just read it the traditional way. And boy am I glad I did! She tears off all the curtains, she is so open and raw, like you know she can be but has never been before. She just let it pour out of her like hot lava, and hot it is. She lays it out for all the world to see, with a if you don’t like it F you Attitude that is strictly Liza. Her no holds bar bravery is mind blowing, even in this day and age of nothing is shocking anymore. She still manages to blow you away. And she does is it with the kind of love that only her family has been able to do for generations. I found it completely inspirational the way she fearlessly addresses all the good, bad, and the really ugly adventures she has had. There is a reason she has lasted as long as she has, she’s a true beacon of hope. Thank God for Michael Finestein for encouraging her with this book, along with all the other things he does to make her life easier. I can’t wait to read part two!!

Best bio I’ve ever read !

This was a Fabulous book. Told with so much authenticity, it’s stunning. The highs and lows of a well lived life in a humble way. The chapter of “A Marriage from Hell” alone is reason to buy the book. Ms Minelli’s candor and ability to bounce back from life challenges with humor and the support of true friends is an inspiration to us all. I’m so Grateful she wrote her life story and so glad she was able to tell it herself.

The Magnificent Authentic Liza
