A young man resurfaces from Spenser's past to seek out the likeable P.I.'s guidance and help to solve the mysterious and sudden disappearance of the boy's mother. The most personal and revealing Spenser thriller of all, the hardboiled yet caring detective faces danger and a reckoning with his own past. Pastime is Robert B. Parker's electrifying masterpiece of crime fiction, both personal and revealing.

If you are a Spenser fan, you will enjoy.

The story's ending was a bit of a surprise and a bit weaker than Parker normally presents. I prefer Joe Montenga as a narrator

Surprised

As always, entertaining. Susan is annoying as usual. Not sure if it the new narrator but Spenser seemed less smart Alec-y this installment. Narrator nails all but Susan and Hawk.
All in all, worth reading if you are a fan of the series.

Good but not the best in the series.

I miss the previous narrator. I may stop listening of this one continues. Great Story.

Great story but I disliked the reader

No attempt at character continuity! After nearly 20 books, at least try to get the characters to sound a little like the previous narrator.

Bring back Pritchard!

Spenser is not a whispering film noir type of character. I believe Spenser to be brash and not soft spoken like Dukes plays him. And Dont get me started on his portrayal of Hawk.

I do not believe Dukes captures the essence
