After dealing with multiple health issues, Mike Carson, along with his wife Emily, finally survive stressful careers and make it to retirement. After an unthinkable attack is perpetrated against the newly elected President and his entire cadre of political allies, the Speaker of the House takes control. As the now dead President’s most bitter rival, the newly sworn in President acts immediately declaring martial law and moving to seize all weapons, ammunition, and precious metals. Knowing they will be a target of the gun eradication movement, a loosely formed group of neighbors decide to push back and defend the freedoms that they hold dear. The deep divide in the Country was bound to come to a head sooner or later; their only hope is to survive the onslaught and do what they can to right the ship.

Wonderful and Fulfilling

A great build up to a climactic ending. I admit that I would have liked the battle scene to last a bit longer. But overall, a great read.
