In New York Times best-selling author Laura Childs' newest Tea Shop Mystery, Theodosia Browning attends a "Rat Tea", where the mice will play at murder.

When Indigo Tea Shop owner Theodosia Browning is invited by Doreen Briggs, one of Charleston's most prominent hostesses, to a "Rat Tea", she is understandably intrigued. As servers dressed in rodent costumes and wearing white gloves offer elegant finger sandwiches and fine teas, Theo learns these parties date back to early 20th-century Charleston to promote better public health. But this party goes from odd to chaotic when a fire starts at one of the tables and Doreen's entrepreneur husband suddenly goes into convulsions and drops dead. Has his favorite orange pekoe tea been poisoned?

Theo smells a rat. And as she reviews the guest list for suspects, she soon finds herself drawn into in a dangerous game of cat and mouse.

I have read all of the shop books but this is the first one I also listened to. I loved hearing the characters come to life!

Maybe it's me. I just couldn't get into this one. I'm tired of the narrator, and Delaine. Even Theo gets on my nerves. Maybe I'm jealous with the way she loses one boyfriend after another and poof - a replacement arrives. I have the next book lined up but I'm not looking forward to it.

I have read almost all the Tea Shop Mysteries per paperback and listened to only a couple. I prefer the books, only because with the Audible Books, the voices feel forced and very stilted, often high and shrill and way too enthusiastic when they shouldn't be. I may be buying the paperbacks vs the Audible books

Update: The more I listen to this, the more it doesn't sound OR read like the older Tea Shop Mysteries. Almost like a total different person wrote it

Pretty good Story.... However
