Anne Elliot lives at Kellynch Hall with her two sisters and vain father, Sir Walter. When financial struggles begin to affect the Elliot family, they decide to move to Bath. Anne decides to visit before the move and runs into many old friends. Most surprisingly, she is reunited with Fredrick Wentworth, a past fiancé who, under advice from her father and a friend, Lady Russell, never married. Wentworth's lack of wealth and rank in the community were their main concerns, and therefore, eight years later, Anne is still unmarried, with few romantic prospects. However, through her journey and move, Anne may find that what she has been looking for was right in front of her the whole time.

Twists and turns were good. Narration was a bit droning. Overall good for a listen.

It is Jane but a bit lackluster in presentation.

I love Jane Austin, but have struggled to find a narrator that does her writing justice. Most are too dull, or over dramatized fort my liking. However, my search ended once I found this version narrated by Rosalyn Landor. I have found many books the better for Ms Landor's brilliant narration, and this was no exception. I highly, highly recommend this audio version of the book.

Rosalyn Landor's performance is brilliant!

The title of my review sums up my enjoyment of listening to this Audible book. Any Jane Austen book is worth reading; all of her books are classics. However, sometimes the colloquialisms, punctuation, etc. can occasionally make some portions of her books difficult to read. In a lesser narrator, they would be boring. However, Rosalyn Landor is my favorite narrator and she brought this book to life. She is able to differentiate the characters so that they are all distinct people while describing the events and Ann's inner thoughts in a way that increased my anticipation of what would follow. I cannot recommend an Audible book more highly.

It was Jane Austin at her best, and was read by someone capable of voicing the characters in a very engaging way.

The performance was excellent!

Loved it all! Really enjoyed the story as the reader enhanced it. The word requirement is annoying.

Great reader!
