But when a passenger collapses mid-flight, everything shifts. The CDC boards the plane in full hazmat gear and initiates an emergency quarantine protocol. Aleksi, smooth as ever, tells them we’re married—and just like that, we’re roomed together.

One room. One bed. No exits. Just adrenaline, proximity, and the kind of tension that finally breaks the moment I let him touch me.

I told myself it was quarantine adrenaline. One night. Nothing permanent. But now I’m late. And the test is positive.

Training camp is around the corner. Aleksi’s coming home. And I’ve got two new problems: A pregnancy I didn’t plan for. And a text from the ex-husband I’ve tried so hard to forget… telling me he’s training with the Seattle Sentinels... and wants to meet up.

I used to guard my heart like it was the only thing that mattered. But now? I’m not just protecting myself.

This isn't it!

FMC was so annoying! MMC deserved better. I stuck with it but I had to fast forward a lot of the FMC dialogue.

Weak FMC

I loved the MMC, but in my opinion the FMC was not believable. A physician wouldn’t be as weak or so poor at problem solving. This was almost a DNF for me several times.

Annoying female lead

I am on the eleventh chapter and Kendall hasn’t stopped being a simpering fool and do not see it ending until the story almost ends. Alexie seems to be the kind of person that would be a great partner but I am not sure if he will enable her or push her. Should he even have to.

It’s going to be hard for me to finish the book because I won’t be able to root for both of the characters but I enjoy this author and I will trust the story.
