Politics is the second half of a single treatise by Aristotle (384 B.C.E - 322 B.C.E.), Ethics being the first. Both deal with one and the same subject: what Aristotle calls the philosophy of human affairs. He also refers to it as political science and social science. Aristotle collected and studied the constitutions of over 150 city states before writing his Politics.©1990 Jimcin Recordings (P)1990 Jimcin Recordings Political Science Greek & Roman History & Theory Politics & Government Classics Philosophy Ancient, Classical & Medieval Literature Collections Literary History & Criticism

Editorial reviews

"Every state is a community of some kind, and every community is established with a view to some good; for mankind always act in order to obtain that which they think good," writes Greek philosopher Aristotle in the first line of his authoritative treatise Politics, in which he examines human affairs. The text is the culmination of his research on more than 150 city states and their constitutions. Jim Killavey’s solemn and clear voice complements the weighty material, making it easy to digest.

It's almost hard to believe this book, which is still relevant today, was written so long ago. A classic book that has definitely withstood the test of time.

Ben Stein is much more exciting than this narrator. He manages to make a classic of modern thought a chore on par with scrubbing the floor.

Don't make a classic a chore.

The narrator was so bad I simply couldn't listen to more than a few minutes. I ended up buying the same title with a different narrator and loved it.
