As Pollyanna arrives in Beldingsville to live with her strict and dutiful maiden aunt, she exclaims, "Oh, Aunt Polly, I don't know how to be glad enough that you let me come to live with you!" And from this point she begins to bring cheer into everybody's life, including the sick, the lonely, and the just plain miserable. All are transformed until one day when something so terrible happens that even Pollyanna doesn't know how to feel glad anymore.

Better than the Disney movie

The movie is charming. But the book had me wiping tears the last several chapters from sadness and happiness. Great narrator!!!

Wonderfully uplifting!

Glad I finally listened to the story that generated the expression Pollyannaish. I highly recommend it.

New to me story!

I’ve heard of Pollyanna of course, but this was my first introduction to this charming child through her actual story. Very sweet and expertly read!

A brilliant book

I really loved the book. I think, everybody in the world should read it at least one time. Although it presumes neither great advantures nor breathtaking events, the philosophy and idea is trully worth reading it!
