I don’t love that a man is narrating for a story about a little girl, but what makes it unforgivable is the fact that I can barely understand anything he says at all. It’s like a copy of a copy, I know it’s a really old recording, but this isn’t worth any money.

The audio quality is so terrible

I long to hear the book read by a woman. The reader Mr Munro has a fine voice, but it is absolute nonsense to have him read about an innocent young girl & experiences.
I thought several times during the listening how much more I would have enjoyed particular spots in the story, if I hadn't been so distracted by such a somber male tone.
It's funny, it never occurred to me just exactly how much of a different experience you can have based on the readers voice.

Very confusing

I read the original Pollyanna many years ago, and was unaware that there was a sequel. This book begins a few months after the end of the first novel. The title character ages from 13 to about 19 or 20 in the course of the book, and it ends with her engagement. If you enjoyed the original story, it is a worthy sequel.

There are two versions of the book available on Audible. I recommend this one, narrated by Alan Munro. The narration of the other version is extremely poor.

good sequel

I lost interest and my mind would wonder if I was not really trying to pay attention

Ok not great

At first, I was disappointed with a male narrator since the first book was read by a woman, but that wasn’t detrimental after I got used to it. Although old fashioned in many ways, Pollyanna stories are still worth reading because “the game” was really an early version of “expressing gratitude” which is now so recognized as being valuable to mental health.

Pollyanna still worth reading
