The monotone reading made it hard to keep my attention on the stories. The stories were good but would've been more thrilling if it were read differently.

The stories were okay - subtle with a decent punch at the end.

I found it nearly impossible to stay engaged while listening because the narration was so monotone. I'm an avid consumer of audiobooks and this is one of the worst narrations I've heard - the lack of inflection or rhythm changes made it almost sound like a droning hum. I'd recommend reading these stories over listening to this narration.

MONOTONE

Decent collection of horror story shorts. The first and last story were really solid. Glad it started out and ended on a high note. Wasn't super excited about the stories in between. They weren't bad, they just didn't have the same level of intensity that the others did and seemed to wander around a bit more.

I usually enjoy when an author reads their own work, I feel like they have the intimacy with the stories that allow them to really bring each one to life. You can tell that he was able to provide the excitement when it was appropriate, but if felt like he was kinda rushing through it with a monotone voice.

I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.

This is my 3rd Andersen Prunty book,I have never really been into this genre, but I happened to stumble onto this author and he is quite good at thinking up this stuff, some stories are better than others, but over all I would give this set a solid 3.5....The narrator is the author himself, and it is quite monotone....I received this audiobook free and this is my voluntary unbiased review.
