In this classic 19th-century story of love battling pride, we meet Elizabeth Bennet. Elizabeth is a smart, well-rounded woman, and she is one of five unmarried daughters of Mr. Bennet, a country gentleman. Marriage is at the forefront Mrs. Bennet's mind, especially since her elderly husband's estate will not pass down to any of their daughters.

The Bennets' small town is in an uproar when two highborn, eligible gentlemen, Mr. Bingley and Mr. Darcy, come to stay. Mr. Bingley takes an instant liking to the eldest Bennet daughter, Jane. Elizabeth's prideful self does not realize her life is about to change when she meets the intolerable Mr. Darcy, who will make her question her sensibilities.

I’m a great admirer of Andrew Davies’ PBS version of Pride and Prejudice. Listening to the book adds more depth & in Austen’s actual words, explains some situations that were excluded or presented in a different way. He was true to the book but I have just RE-lived Colin Firth & Jennifer Ehle as Elizabeth & Darcy again!! They were just fabulous!!
What a great romantic story!!

Excellence!

Jane Austen hides a lot of humor and observation in her sentences. I own and have listened to a good number of wonderful narrators. But Rosalyn Landor is the first to get it right. To tell the romance story while also letting the observations of human folly be told. A gem!

Rosalyn Landor nails it!

Easy to listen to. All voices are good. probably the best performance of the male parts.

One of the best performances.
