It was with great interest that I listened to Ragged Hope. As the mother of five children and the adult child of an alcoholic father, I wanted to see what the author had to say about surviving the fallout of other people's choices. And I was not disappointed. The stories that she shared, from people who suffered deep pain from choices made by those in their lives that meant the most to them, was of great value. As was the ways to minister to these hurting folks. No pat answers, just love and compassion . . . and hope for tomorrow, the hope that is only found in Christ. Thank you. :)

Great stories on how to live well and with hope in various seemingly impossible situations in life. I enjoyed and appreciate the uplifting encouragement found in this story. I may return to it to review again. The narration was great. However, Alex tended to fade too much at times.

A great collage of stories to inspire hope

Very well read, tho the voices of both narrators tend to go down at the ends of sentences. On a second listen I would take notes. Sometimes I am overwhelmed by resentment over my situation. I haven't slept in my bed for 18 months. The landlord knows and does not give a fig. What's worse, they have dumped a poor handicapped woman in the apartment overhead. She made so much noise at all hours, I had to get a pacemaker! And nobody cares. I have complained on her behalf. I called and complained on her behalf as well as my own. Nobody would listen! Obviously, I need to calm down and begin packing, get the ducks in a row, so I can move soon. I don't believe this is this woman's karma to suffer this way. My own natural action is to bring her situation to the attention of anyone with the power to order a change. Thus far to no effect. But I am positive God is watching. At least the sleaze ball "care"-givers are not my family! We went for mediation; I got thrown under the bus. They think they're ahead of the game. Indeed, they know not what they do. This book will help me a lot to move on with love, wave bye-bye when I move and just sew for my dolls and not drag the sad old story down the road and over the mountains. There will be a reckoning. I will listen again to note those wonderful Bible citations. Thank you! Most comforting!
