I didn't like the beating talk in Mexico. The narrator was good she kept the story going. The end was satisfying

It was an older book with older views on men and women

Overall, I like her books.I think they're amazing But this felt a little dated a bit out of touch with modern ideas...but I stuck with it and finished the book and overall enjoyed it in the end!

overall good but a bit cringe.....do to age?

Ms. Krentz’s writing and story crafting skills were just as evident in this bill as all the others o have read. My personal problem was that I disliked the heroine. My teeth were grinding at some of her persistent nagging, angry responses.
So this is the only one of Ms. Krentz s books I cannot give five stars snd the only one I won’t reread/relisten to several times.

Not my favorite

circa 1983 and the characters and writing sure sound like it. I don’t remember reading or enjoying anything written like this at the time. And yes, I have been a bookaholic my entire lifetime.
I’m not a fan of McFadden’s narration here. Odd cadence and diction takes the reader’s attention away from the book.

I found the voice the reader gave the heroine in this story to be annoying. The nasal tone made her sound like a petulant teenager and interfered with the interpretation of the story.
This was very disappointing since I am a great fan of Jayne Ann Krentz novels.

Disappointing narrative
