Quick Finish

I feel like 5 books for the story is a bit much. Slow progression. Same events kept happening just in different ways. Quick finish in just a few chapters all tied up in a pretty bow.
I feel the author was very attached to the characters created and failed to create any suspenseful deaths, etc.
