Darkness brought on by criminals, drug addicts, and traitors in the band make life even more difficult. Our hardy band of survivors have at least temporarily solved the basic needs issues and have food, water, shelter, and weapons. Now they must seek out like-minded people to join their mutual assistance group and eliminate the criminals who want to be dictators.

Joe’s Grandma’s letters continue to motivate Joe and help him search for the promised treasure. One find startles the group and promises a safer life. Another find is a major disappointment. Joe loses some people close to him but finds some new friends along the way. Can Joe become the leader the group desperately needs? Will the group survive? Will we learn what happened to the Muslim terrorists?

He did it again

completely enthralled and i love how we are following different character's thought this story. these novels are action packed and really keep you on your toes.

Shed a little light into the darkness!

The third book of the series deals primarily with the dregs of society that manage to survive an apocalypse. As they say, even cockroaches will survive. Joe and his small group of survivors join with a large group of preppers and survivalists who call themselves the Mountain Men. Their goals and standards mesh, and soon Joe is off to nearby camps and towns to garner allegiance with the larger group. The city of Ashland is everyone’s main concern. It has been taken over by a warlord mentality who has recruited many men in order to control nearby communities and charge a tariff for protection. It is the encounters with this force and the recruitment of men that consume Joe’s daily activities. Cobie and Chloe also keep Joe on his toes and at times present the lighter side of the struggle to survive. This is a great series and I look forward to more. Kevin Pierce and Sara Morsey do a wonderful job of bringing the characters to life.

just as good as the 1st 2!!

I love this entire book series and have already downloaded the 4th book, rising from the darkness with intent to finish it asap. I can't stop listening to these!!

Must Read

Book 3 finds new threats new love and a new reality as the group settles into a new way of life. The author manages to bring new life to a subject matter that is saturated with the same ol' same ol' in almost every distopian novel. I highly recommend this series it's fun, Scarry and full of Hope. I love Grandma ❤️ too she's a nice twist.

loved it. great story, great characters. looking for #4. maybe the next one will be another one "OVER THE FENCE" !!
