'Characters you'll come to love and a story that keeps you turning the page.' Rosie Goodwin

The fourth book in a dramatic and moving World War II saga series of family, secrets and lies. Perfect for readers of Ellie Dean and Annie Groves and for fans of the Home Fires series.

All is not well at Castle's Café. Since the fatal shooting, customers have been staying away, and now Nellie finds herself in debt to the sinister Terence Carter. But when a deadly attack strikes close to home, these troubles pale into insignificance.

Meanwhile, Jimmy Castle's relationship with family friend Reenie Turner has deepened, and in the aftermath of the attack that could so easily have killed them, they decide to get married.

But the return of an old friend threatens to expose a long-held secret, leaving the wedding teetering on the brink of disaster . . .©2024 Ginny Bell (P)2024 Bonnier Books UK

I was a little bit thrown back by the ending. The author worked on Nelly's struggle throughout the story and I feel like the ending lacked closure for that.

I love the authors capability to intertwine so many different stories into one.

Well written story of a family with many different challenges. I particularly liked liked intertwined situations of all the characters.

I've loved all 4 Dover Cafe books. The narrator is one of, if not the best I have ever heard.

Great series, outstanding narration

Ginny Bell is an extremely talented writer who is able to beautifully character build and touch every emotion in every book in her series of Dover Cafe. The narrator, Bea Holland, does an absolutely wonderful job with every character. You feel as if there are separate people narrating for every character. Great story!

Phenomenal series

I love the narrator! And the details of the book are so vivid…I have felt like a member of the Castle family since the first book. I can’t wait until the next one comes out!
