With the mine reopened and his farm under construction, Falkor and his party go exploring in the tunnels below the village.

Though he defeated the first contender that had hunted him down, Falkor was sure that more would be coming for him, and he needed to get stronger as quickly as possible. Fighting and defeating the monsters of the underground seemed to be the fastest way to accomplish that goal.

But unexpectedly strong monsters from the deep depths of the underground are appearing closer to the surface than they should be. Falkor's party barely survives their first encounter with the higher-level beasts. His more experienced advisors are concerned and launch an exploratory mission to the depths to find out what's pushing the monsters toward the surface. What they find could mean the end of them all.

Meanwhile, the brotherhood of the contender Falkor killed is intent on taking his head, as well as the heads of some of his friends, forcing Falkor into ritual combat yet again.

Narrated in duet style.

Main character is just so silly in how he goes about things. He’s apparently just a real innocent guy that can’t do wrong. It gets really sappy at times and cringy. I don’t get why the author wrote him like that. He also does obvious dumb things, which doesn’t make sense for a past soldier.

Decent read but silly

a very well rounded LitRPG book that for once isn't overly sexulized the entire time.

The unique power dynamic between contenders and locals is interesting
