Paul Robertson's debut novel The Heir garnered critical praise as a "Grisham-like tale of intrigue and murder" ( Booklist). Told from five diverse viewpoints, Road to Nowhere spins gripping suspense into a mysterious whodunit as a small mountain town wrangles over a road that could change its future forever.©2008 Paul Robertson (P)2008 Recorded Books,LLC Thriller & Suspense Mystery Suspense Genre Fiction Political Christian Fiction Classics

Critic reviews

"This top-notch offering features genuine humor, clever writing, a surprise ending and a strong portrayal of evil's power that doesn't succumb to clichéd violence." ( Publishers Weekly)

I have read couple of other Paul Robertson stories but this one is not his best one. The story is unique. It is about a road and people warring over whether it needs to be constructed or not. Couple of board of supervisors are dead as well and couple of them are shot at too. "Who dunnit" is the theme of this book. The character development in this book is amazing, you will find people that you might have met or even related to. But it is its downfall as well. After sometime, it becomes repetitive and boring and the mystery, who did it, why they did it becomes distant secondary plot of the book. The book moves very slowly. Ending is too flat with unbelievable motive for the crime. The other thing I did not care about is the subtle theme of promoting Christianity.

Henry Strozier has done a decent job narrating this book.

I would not recommend this book for being very slow moving and unbelievable ending. Spare your credit
