She was a pawn in her father’s game. He was a king in a wild land. But in the heart of the Highlands, even the sharpest thorns can bleed.

Brilliant, stifled, and far too clever for her own good, Eleanor Winston is traded like a piece of silk to the one man London whispers about in hushed, terrified tones: Callum MacLeod. Known as "The Wolf," Callum is a mountain of a man—scarred, silent, and ruling a clan that views an English bride as a curse.

Eleanor arrives at Castle MacLeod expecting a prison. Instead, she finds a world of ancient honor and a husband whose cold exterior hides a soul as tortured as her own. Armed with forbidden medical knowledge and a razor-sharp wit, she begins to do the unthinkable: she earns the respect of the Highlanders.

But the Wolf is not easily tamed.

Callum MacLeod has no room for love. Haunted by his mother’s murder and the weight of a clan on the brink of war, he didn’t want a wife—especially not a delicate English rose. Yet, as Eleanor defies him at every turn, he finds himself captivated by her fire.

Just as a fragile peace begins to bloom, a shadow falls over the glen. A traitor lurks within the castle walls, and their sights are set on the new Lady MacLeod. With a secret life growing inside her and an enemy closing in, Eleanor must decide: will she flee back to the safety of London, or will she burn it all down to protect the Highlander who stole her heart?

From the drawing rooms of London to the mist-covered peaks of Scotland, Rose in the Heather is a gripping tale of enemies-to-lovers, political intrigue, and a love strong enough to bridge two worlds.

I think this book written by AI, not a person. It’s just a string of facts and politics-no warmth, no passion, no real emotion. It’s supposed to be a romance, but it doesn’t feel like one at all. Even the kiss between the characters feels empty, like it’s just there to check a box.

I really don’t like it.
