Male Narrator was Painful

I agree, the story, though not original was great! I enjoyed the interesting twist on what feels like the same fantasy novel I have read 16 times over now. The female narrator was amazing. I thought her skill even in portraying the men was quite good, but book three when the male narrator came in was awful. I hate to say it but all of it felt over acted and made me cringe every time he spoke. His overly wistful tone that left the end of every sentence in a drone was the hardest thing to listen to. I wish they would’ve let the female narrate the female voices in Evanders part, because his sad excuse for a female voice had me nearly put the book down. All in all. Maybe it’s a good read, but not a good listen?

BAD A** HEROINE

Throughly enjoyed listening to this story. The drama and turn of events were riveting. The back and forth between the protagonist and her love interest made me giddy and laugh out loud so many times. Loved, loved, loved the fact that Rowan wasn’t painted as a helpless heroine but one that was valiant, courageous, and determined.

Throughly enjoyed the story and I would definitely recommend.

The first book I couldn’t put down since Fourth Wing

This book is on the same level as Sara J Maas & Rebecca Yarros. Really lovely novel.

Just wow

I started this book because I was bored and didn’t want something to in-depth as I waited for the next book to come out in a different series… this book engulfed me. The story, the voice actors and the plot twists! Think I may have found a new amazing author to add to my list. The only complaint I have is that it’s not so easy to see what comes first in the series. Recommend reading the treaty book first as its before the books with Rowan.
