The only thing harder than being a royal? Falling in love with one.

Belinda

As a political blogger living in Manhattan, I have no time to date. My few free hours are spent with best friend Soraya and her husband, Graham. Love has no place in this equation.

Then Prince Zan walks into the coffee shop. He’s confident and different from other men, making it clear from our first conversation royal lineage won’t stand in his way. I know better than to be carried away by green eyes and soft lips. But if that’s the case, how did I end up in his bed?

Zan

My dark past is a nightmare I can’t escape from. It was anything but easy to become a royal.

Then I met Belinda. She might be a commoner, but there’s nothing at all common about this woman. One look is all it takes. Maybe if I bring her to my homeland she’ll be under its spell, too. But the differences between our two worlds seem impossible to overcome. I refuse to ignore my duty and passion for my people, and Belinda won’t abandon her career.

The right woman or destiny? Whatever it takes, I'm determined to have both.

The readers do a good job, but I personally found it a bit slow so I sped the reading speed up a bit.

The story is compelling, if a bit slow. The love of Zan by his adoptive parents and his for Belinda and his country shown through. Overall, a good listen.

Nice royal story

One of my favorite from the Hero Club collection so far. Both narrators were great. It was nice the story was centered around an area of the world not normally depicted in this genre.

This is a good one

Hero was Zulu and Italian American raised in Africa mo accent. Native Mosians had no accent! Hero had black hair and green eyes. Cover model is blond and blue eyes!

Alyssa Cole three part series with African and black characters managed to find voice actors who didnt sound white.

Story line was good.

The lead characters had no flaws. How does that happen? No real history for the female lead. I can't connect. I like the male lead, but he is less human and more on a pedestal. I need something I can halfway believe to remember this story in the future. Bad stuff happens and parts are really sad. still not close to either lead character. Not very moved. Felt closer to the side characters. I wish that Teddy could have researched the accent of the region more too. He felt too american. Not enough of his native sound. It was hard to believe he was from Africa. Usually Teddy kills it, but this one must have been hard. I get it, just disappointed I couldn't feel more in this story.

Too far fetched, but fairytale like.
