Just left me hanging

This book just didn’t work for me. Yep narrator was ok, but a little monotone. The story took a while to build up, then ended so abruptly. Honestly, I would have expected it to be the first book in a series given the sudden end.

I want more!

Addison decides to leave everything behind in London after she catches her husband cheating. She seeks refuge in her hometown in Ireland, a place she left for what she thought were better and bigger things. Putting her life into perspective, Addison decides to be her true self and give in to her dreams of decorating cakes and opening a bakery.

She is not there to find love, much less to meet a man. But destiny has bigger plans. As much as she tries to fight it, there is a connection with Blake McCarthy, a single dad, and widower. The attraction is undeniable. But just when she is ready to give in, her recent past comes back to bite her.

Ruined Plans is the first part of the trilogy. And it left me wanting more. I guess I'll jump into the next book to find out what will happen next.

I enjoyed the narration by Nicole Blessing. Although, I'll be honest, it took me a minute to get used to the accent.

enjoyable start of a romance

A fast paced really well written immediately addictive story including great characters. Addison goes back to what she feels is home after finding out her husband was cheating. As she tries to pull herself together more secrets are revealed she meets single dad Blake who makes her see and feel things. Ends on a cliffhanger wanting for more. Narrated fantastically really bring you into the story.

Enchanting beginning!

Addison is a lawyer in London whose life is about to take a different path. Her husband is a lawyer, too, and a rigid man who expects her to dress in Gucci and high heels every day. Their relationship isn't the best, but when she finds him with her own PA on his desk, that's the end. Addison grew up in  Ireland, so she goes home to find herself again. Her godmother, Aunt Addy, welcomes her and lets her know that she can stay as long as she wants. She needs some time to find what she'd like to do. What she has always loved, since she was a child, is to bake! Perhaps she can find a building to convert into a bakery once she receives her divorce settlement. A problem with the water shutting off in the middle of her shower sends her to the garage to check if a fuse is blown and right into an encounter with the electrician. But, he's not the electrician! He's the boyfriend of Addison's best friend and Aunt Addy's daughter, Kayleigh, who recently passed away. She can't forget the looks he gave her and the feelings she had when they first looked at each other in the garage. He's interested, but Addison isn't sure it's the right thing to do. She finally follows her heart instead of her mind, but once more her world is going to change. This is the first part of the series and ends in a mild cliffhanger. An enchanting tale! 
I both read and listened to Ruined Plans and the narration is beautifully done by Nicole Blessing. Not only is her accent delightful, so is the pronunciation of the Irish words. 

Hot Single Dad

I went into this not knowing it was in 3 parts. So when it came to an end I was pleasantly surprised to know the others parts were available since I die with cliffhangers. The story held me so much I immediately bought the 2 other parts so I could finish the story. I will say it was worth the listen to hear all 3 parts. Give it a listen.
