In a post-apocalyptic America, Deaver Teague makes a living salvaging things left behind from before the war. When he hears some truck drivers talking about a hidden cache of gold in a Mormon temple in flooded Salt Lake City, he enlists some friends to look for it.

This is good writing. This review might sound a little esoteric, but I don't want to give any of the story away. It moves from outer world details to inner thoughts and reflections. I really enjoyed the structure of the story. If you want reduction at the end of a story, you may not like this one, though. It is kind of open-ended.
Rudnicki is great, as usual.

A surprising little story from Card

not what I expected

Very, very short. Characters not very fleshed out. Mostly one-dimensional. We don't get to know any of them, except maybe the main character Deaver or Deever. Neat little sketch.

Decent
