Samurai! is the gripping autobiography of Saburō Sakai, one of Japan’s most renowned fighter pilots during World War II. Co-written with Fred Saito and Martin Caidin, the book chronicles Sakai’s rise from a poor rural upbringing to becoming an elite Zero pilot in the Imperial Japanese Navy.

With vivid detail and unflinching honesty, he recounts harrowing dogfights, the horrors of war, and his legendary 1,000-mile flight back to base after being grievously wounded.

More than just a war memoir, Samurai! offers rare insight into the mindset, discipline, and honor of a warrior shaped by both tradition and global conflict.

The guys voice is tolerable there’s just rough editing left in there. The stories and characters are great though and worth the listen still

Lots of mistakes and audible sound edits and cuts. Otherwise samurai is an amazing book

Great book, mid narration

Having listened to 2000-ish books, this book is the worst production I have encountered. The narrator's voice was pleasant and easy to listen to, but the editing/mixing was a disaster. Some of the issues: repeated phrases as if trying to get it right, with one finished with "Christ!" in frustration, overlapping narration, "stuttering"--not an actual stutter but where the start of a word would be repeated because it wasn't edited correctly.
