A new heart-pounding, suspenseful, and supremely romantic novel from New York Times best seller Mia Sheridan.

When wilderness guide Harper Ward is summoned to the small town sheriff's office in Helena Springs, Montana, to provide assistance on a case, she is shocked to find that their only suspect in the double murder investigation is a man described as a savage.

But the longer she watches the man known only as Lucas, on the station surveillance camera, the more intrigued she becomes. He certainly looks primitive with his unkempt appearance and animal skin attire, but she also sees intelligence in his eyes, sensitivity in his expression. Who is he? And how is it possible that he's lived alone in the forest since he was a small child?

As secrets begin to emerge, Harper is thrust into something bigger and more diabolical than she ever could have imagined. And standing right at the center of it all is Lucas. But is he truly the wild man he appears to be? A cold-blooded killer? An innocent victim? Or a perplexing mix of all three?

Harper must find out the answers to these questions, because the more time she spends with him, the more she risks losing her heart.

This tale of survival and found family stole my whole dang heart.

For a minute I wasn't sure if Mia suddenly decided to write a why choose as we start out with four different perspectives... But it turns out two of them are just important people to the story with a special third person getting a POV later down the line.

I was horrified with Jak's point of view... The things that poor boy went through broke me into pieces. As we learn more and more about him I only got more and more attached to this sweet boy and couldn't wait to discover his place in Lucas and Harper's life.

I loved Harper, she was so strong and such a beautiful person. The way she was with Lucas was just incredible, lifting him up and keeping his demons at bay. I adored him too, such a kind soul despite his past. This was the best kind of instant love and when Lucas called her his mate I about unalived.

This story was full of suspense and mystery, and while I slowly put together some of the twists, a couple left me reeling. The non-romantic pieces of the plot were absolutely fantastic. Mia's mind is such a wonderful and often heartbreaking place, I love it there.

I was able to partially listen to this story as I had the previously released version called "Savaged" already in my audio library and I absolutely loved it. Chelsea Hatfield and Christian Fox did a wonderful job bringing this story to life. I'm so excited to see what's next for this series.

Love this survival and found family romance

Mia Sheridan’s suspenseful books are always twisty and a little disturbing (just the way I like them). I really enjoyed the direction the story headed. There were, in my opinion, a few missed opportunities to go deeper into some of the psychological components. Still, it was a totally bingeable read and one not to miss.

Twisty

I don’t know why I waited so long to purchase this audio. I’ll admit I bought it mainly because Christian Fox is one of my favorite narrators, but the story more than carries itself. Mostly mystery and intrigue but with a love story threaded through, it’s ultimately a story of survival and how you let your experiences shape and mold you.

Chelsea Hatfield is a new narrator to me, but she and Christian gave such beautiful shades of strength and vulnerability to these characters and their experiences.

Loved!

I've read so many books, and met so many characters, but nothing like this one. There's a message about strength, survival, forgiveness and redemption, but also about hope and love found in the most unusual circumstances. I enjoyed the prose, the complexity this is characters, the beautiful setting and the suspense. But above all those things, I loved the references and quotes about The Count of Monte Cristo. The narration was spectacular! The way the narrators portrayed the characters, their emotions, it was amazing and I loved it! It was my first time listening to a Christian Fox and/or Chelsea Hatfield audiobook, and I think they are incredible in their job.Looking forward for more of their performances.

A great story, and a outstanding performance!
