Cam McHugh died in a tragic farming accident. He has a message for his son and only his dog can hear him.

Halo is no ordinary dog. Not only can she see ghosts, she can talk to them, too. If only she could tell Hunter that death doesn't mean an end to being around the ones we love, maybe she could help him find his voice again. Unfortunately, she may never have the chance.

Dognapped by the man who threatens to destroy the only family she has ever known, Halo must escape and find her way home - hundreds of miles away. Halo's story is for those who want to believe there are places such as Heaven and the Rainbow Bridge, and that angels are always watching over us.

First, I love Dogs, life is not complete without a dog. This dog went through so many fantastic and horrible moments, and continued to love Big, remain strong and take care of those she loved.
Be prepared to laugh, feel triumph, feel anger and sadness, see blessings, cry and fall in love. Great dog novel. 💚

Heart wrenching in all the best ways.

Didn't like the narrator. At first with her voice I thought this book was geared toward pre teen/teens. The story, not so much. If you can get passed the narrator the story is fine. It was not the lighthearted read the cover and write up led me to believe. If I knew this book was about abandonment and animal abuse, I would have given it a hard pass. I have experienced first hand the abuse humans do to animals daily during my years working at the Humane Society and working with rescues, vets and as a pet groomer. I did not want to revisit the experience when I was looking for a light read to escape into.
Now that all said, I think Gemi did a good job telling an accurate and believable tale of a dog's love, loyalty, protectiveness and forgiveness even in the face of abandonment and abuse.
