Another excellent story by Joan Grant!

I have loved all of Joan Grant’s books as well as the narrator, Mel Nicholson. Her voice is soothing and she gives each character an inflection that suits them well. She is the perfect narrator for ‘Scarlet Feather’ as well as Joan Grant’s other stories..
I really do wish JG were still alive so I could look forward to reading more books written by her. Not only do I enjoy the stories, but I learn things about history and gain insight about human nature as well.

Life death initiation is all here and so beautifully expressed. So grateful I found Joan Grant. Or did she find me? A tale/metaphor so timely for our day

Totally absorbed

Joan Grant was a brilliant storyteller. A worthy read. I was totally absorbed in the reading, not wanting it to end.

Enjoyable, but minor content warnings

The story itself was highly enjoyable, but didnt have the feeling of remembered truths the other books before this did.

There are also a couple of potentially spoilery content warnings I should mention:

* implied first cousin marriage
* uncomfortable phrases that seem heavily influenced by early 20th century white perceptions/assumptions/prejudices regarding First Nations cultures.
