The thrilling finale to #1 New York Times bestselling author Danielle L. Jensen's Dark Shores series, which Sarah J. Maas calls "everything I look for in a fantasy novel." This program features multicast narration.

Lydia and Killian escaped their enemy’s grasp, but not without consequences. While they race to destroy the blight, Lydia fights an internal war against the Corrupter’s influence knowing defeat means death for those she loves. Tormented by a battle that can’t be won with blades, Killian must find the queen they risked everything to rescue without falling prey to Corrupter’s weapons, both living and dead.

Teriana and Marcus thwarted assassination, but now must live with the dark truths that have been revealed. As Teriana hunts for allies, she must face the dire circumstances of her imprisoned people, driving her to strike a dangerous deal with the Empire. Consumed by guilt over his crimes, Marcus embarks on an ambitious campaign to save those he condemned, which risks him becoming the conqueror the Empire desires him to be.

With the blight consuming everything in its path and the Empire crushing everyone who stands before it, Reath is falling beneath the tide of evil. Secrets will be revealed that break hearts even as they forge new alliances, but only the greatest sacrifices of all will turn the tide in the battle for the liberty of every nation on Reath.

"This beautifully written fantasy is enhanced by its narration." —AudioFile on Dark Skies

Critic reviews

"Jensen tosses readers right back into the action. . . A big, bold send-off for beloved characters."—Kirkus Reviews

Praise for the Dark Shores series:

“Richly-woven, evocative, and absolutely impossible to put down—I was hooked from the first lines! Dark Shores has everything I look for in a fantasy novel: fresh, unique settings, a cast of complex and diverse characters, and an unflinching boldness with the nuanced world-building. I loved every word.”—Sarah J. Maas, #1 New York Times bestselling author

"The book grabs readers from the beginning with its stellar worldbuilding and multidimensional characters. . . . A gripping introduction to a new series."—Kirkus Reviews (starred)

"This epic first installment in a new series from Jensen features stunning worldbuilding, a vivid cast of secondary characters, and a steamy slow-burn romance between two exceedingly competent and compelling heroes. Dark Shores is not one to miss."—Booklist

"This is a lush, imaginative world, and as the focus shifts between Teriana and Marcus, it becomes clear that the readers are only getting a glimpse of its complicated history and mythology.... Their secrets don’t, of course, stop Teriana and Marcus from embarking on a steamy romance, and fans of Rutkoski’s sighworthy The Winner’s Kiss and the high-stakes sea adventure of Levenseller’s Daughter of the Pirate King will want to know where Marcus and Teriana journey to next." —Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books

"The plot's twists and turns and fantastical elements add to the allure of this thrilling story. Exhilarating fantasy-adventure romance for fans of Tricia Levenseller's Daughter of the Pirate King, Alexandra Christo's To Kill a Kingdom, or Natalie C. Parker's Seafire. Readers will eagerly await the next book in the series."—School Library Journal

I have read a lot of good series in the past year, but this one is sooooo good! It looks like it would be about pirates, but that's not it at all. It has all the things: enemies to lovers, political machinations, good vs. evil, explorations of morality and what truly motivates people, oppression and rebellion, Roman- like military culture, supernatural powers, and really good world building.
Also good narration with 2-4 different narrators. It's 4.5 books (I haven't read the .5 prequel... Probably good, but not essential) and am about 12 hours from the end of the last one. It's probably 75 to 80 hours total, so not really that long, comparatively to some. The pacing is really good, too. I listen at 1.2x and have not felt much of a lull the whole time. Its all I can do to put this last book "down" today! 😆
Highly highly recommend!!

This was an amazing conclusion to the series I fell in love with. I enjoyed it so much that I’m sad it is over! The narrators were perfect I loved them all. They did such a great job. There was so much suspense throughout, with vivid detail, and attention to the raw emotions; I felt I was living it with them. Amazing series! My favorite!!

Holy Cow! what a ride! While not for the faint hearted, I find myself in awe of this series. The story, the symbolism, the performance!!! This book is the epic culmination of a story that could have happened anywhere throughout time. Strong characters, dynamic plot line, a touch of supernatural but not too much. The performance is outstanding! This author never fails me with the wisdom she includes in her stories!

Brilliant
