A mother and son with a strained relationship inherit a house following the sudden death of a family member with a violent past. When the son moves his bedroom into the basement, he starts to experience unexplainable and terrifying phenomena. After he uncovers a dark secret concealed within the house, they quickly learn that some truths are better left a mystery. Can they overcome their differences in order to survive, or will the darkness overcome them both?

What a great listen

From the narrator to the characters, I loved every piece of the story, as a kid that slept in a basement room and had an overactive imagination, the author captures the dread of being alone in a creepy cellar perfectly. The fear and anxiety of being in a home that caused you trauma is captured perfectly in the mom. This was great and I am looking forward to book 2

Excellent debut

A fantastic creepy little story, and a great debut from an author I'll definitely be following.
