Our 4 6 8 10 year old didn’t get scared a bit

PLEASE GET A NEW NARRATOR

I was excited to share this,Audible with my 9 year old. He likes the Sugar Creek Gang movies.
We turned the audible book off at the beginning of chapter two. The narrator's attempt at "southern drawl" was embarrassing. She made the gang sound ignorant.
I HIGHLY recommend the Sugar Creek Gang books, and movies. Just get a different narrator.
Very disappointed.

Poor narration

I almost bought more than one audio version of the SCG books when they were on sale but I'm glad I waited to listen to the first one purchased. Unless there is something I don't recall from the earlier books, the narrator makes 2 of the boys sound like they're painstakingly learning to read and everything they say is read... the absolute worst part is that the one character is nicknamed POETRY. Of all the characters to voice that way, that is a heinous crime. When he quoted poetry it made him sound like he's on the verge of being admitted to long term care because he's so mentally incompetent. Bummer... fun stories with nostalgia for me but less than 2 hours was too many for me to enjoy.
