In book two of Joe Nobody's highly acclaimed series, Secession, the Republic of Texas becomes the target of a diabolical plot hatched by international terrorists.

The task of saving the new nation falls on the Texas Rangers. Zach and Sam soon find themselves embroiled in a desperate struggle to unravel the intricate scheme before the Republic is drawn into a multi-front war it cannot win.

Secession II: The Flood is a fast-paced tale of the challenges faced by the vulnerable, fledgling democracy. Only the strength of her people and the actions of the two rangers can overcome the treachery and cutthroat politics of the global community...to ensure that the Lone Star Nation survives.

Well I thought this book would sorta have a different point behind it. Book 1 was based off the actual idea of Texas Succeeding from the US and backed by relative facts. Book 2 picked up roughly a year later, but focused on the 2 main characters. I felt the ending was hurried and it closes with 'The End' but doesnt actually tie up a couple lose ends.

Not what I was hoping for

Great story but the narrator did the characters and story an injustice. He doesn't do characters very well and doesn't always keep track of characters' accents/voices. Additionally, the narrator mispronounced some words here and there.

Book deserves a better narrator

Excellent book, the only problem is the narration using Hispanic accent for Arabic characters and others. The story was well written and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys political thrillers

Excellent book

I’ve read two books in this series. And it’s not at all what I thought it was going to be. It’s a great mystery type story, full action and character development. But the story is greatly diminished by the robotic and plastic voice of the orator. I’ve been a fan of Joe Nobody for sometime, but this series of books was quite a departure from his normal genre. I’m looking forward to reading book 3, but I would be less than Homes if I stated I was excited about having to listen to the readers hum-drum vernacular.

Great story; Mediocre orator
