The first time I met Kyler Blackwood, he was a bruised and battered boy with fire in his eyes and nowhere safe to land.
Since the first time he kissed me, he was my best-kept secret, my quiet rebellion, my haven in the storm.
But fate forced us apart, making us pretend to be strangers because it hurt too much to be anything else.
Years later, time hasn’t dulled what we felt, has never erased the way we fit. And when Kye’s past collides with my present, everything shifts.
It’s a choice neither of us expected.
A bond that never really broke.
A line we were never meant to cross.
We tell ourselves it’s only temporary, that the arrangement is just a means to an end. But with each passing day, the lie feels more like the truth. And with each stolen touch, Kye feels more like mine. Because some things were never meant to be pretend.
And some dangers are closer than we ever imagined...

I’d been wanting a Fallon & Kye book since the very first book in the series and I’m so glad we got their story. This journey was everything and more. I love the Colson family so much and we jump right into seeing their dynamic growing up in the prologue when Fallon is a teenager. The Colson is a blended family of siblings (adopted, foster, birth) and their love for one another and always showing up is so strong in this series. I love the siblings, their mom, and of course Grandma Lolli too! In the prologue we see Fallon and Kye spending time together secretly at school. Their connection is something tender and special and I loved this little moment with them in the prologue. One night things take a turn when Kyler is dropped off at Fallon’s home as a new foster sibling, he says they can’t tell her family they knew one another yet or that they shared a kiss. And things cut to the future from there!
This book is filled with so much emotion and heart and I loved every second. The book jumps to present day for Kye and Fallon. He’s working at his tattoo shop and is still super protective over Fallon. The longing and angst between these two is just so good. We also really get a look into the foster care system and I love how many children Fallon wants to help. One night she gets a call that changes their lives when she finds out Kye has three half-sisters in need. Kye’s feelings when he finds out his half-sisters exist and he never knew 🥺, him immediately wanting custody/guardianship of them and asking Fallon for help with the process 🤧! This has a marriage of convenience and I loved how it all played out, including who asked who. I loved the check-ins with the entire Colson crew and what a fantastic way to wrap up this wonderful series!
Narrated by Stella Hunter and Connor Crais, they both were fantastic at brining these characters to life.
Perfect end to an amazing 5-star series!

Ky and Fallon have been drawn together since they were teenagers. Fallon was there for Ky when no one else was. Her family even fostered him for a while and then he became a part of the Colson family forever. Ky is so protective over Fallon, especially with her job in helping kids in very bad situations that need foster care themselves. Life is about to change when Fallon is called to a home and discovers who the mother is that is currently in police custody. There are 3 girls that need her help and are connected to Ky in a way no one ever knew about.
I couldn't love this story more. With Fallon offering to help Ky with his new situation, to them becoming what we all hoped they would from the beginning of this series. I just loved that their Secret Haven turned into their forever home.
Oh, how I am going to miss these characters. This will definitely be a series that I listen to again and again.
Finally...the story we have all been waiting for.

What a way to end a series! I’ve wanted Fallon and Kyes story for so long and it seriously did not disappoint. The tension and chemistry the friendship and understanding. It was all so beautifully written. I love how selfless they both are and I genuinely loved the found family they made. Kyes sister Hayden broke my heart and I loved how gentle they were with her.
The reason I love series like this is when we get to see the other couples in the book and we got to see everyone we love from previous books here. They supported them and were there whenever they were needed. Fal and Kyes story was tragic and beautiful. I loved how protective and supportive he was with her and how he knew what she needed before she could voice it. I also LOVED how fiercely protective she was over him. The ending to the book was beautiful and even though I’m sad the series is over, I’m so excited for the next one Catherine is starting with Dex!
The audiobook was great and both narrators did a fantastic job bringing the characters to life.
So good!
