Thirteen-year-old Lillian is born into a polygamous sect. She is taught to keep sweet and obey until a much older Bishop chooses her as his new child bride.

Her family is honored, and sends her to his compound in the Canadian wilderness.

Lillian tries hard to live according to his strict rules, but she has a rebellious nature and starts to question the whole concept of polygamy.

She knows she must escape soon, or she will suffer eternal damnation at the hands of her husband and her sister-wives.

She discovers an unexpected way out when a young property developer shows up at the compound. Can she convince him to help her?

it was a really good book I'm going to have to listen to it again because I think I've missed some of it

Struggle and survival regardless of the crime or closeness of the family member.excellent story. Good plot
