Captain Cirilo Webster is a loyal officer of the Santiago Corporation, the multistellar megacorporation that controlls all travel between the Seventy-Seven human colonies.

Finally given command of his first interstellar freighter, he is determined to do well by both his crew and his employers—but nothing is ever that simple.

His crew is used to Captains passing through on their way to better ships. The Company’s policies have made more enemies than he can count. Their mission is unusual and the client might be lying to him.

And if all of that wasn’t enough? One of the cyborgs his ship uses for security is starting to do things like read encyclopedias for fun.

Glynn Stewart crafts really different worlds from urban fantasy to space opera. This new series is fascinating and fun with great characters. It is told from the perspective of a morally ambiguous, but not evil, interstellar corporation. I am not sure but a little Murderbot (another favorite) influence might have crept in.

The only downside is it is yet another series that we have to anxiously wait for the next installment.

There were some audio overlaps and editing issues in my listen, but I am not sure if that was a garbled download or need for re-editing.

A new universe and new adventures

This is another wonderful book by Glynn with a wonderful performance by Beau. But there are some glaring editing issues throughout where sentences and chapters are cut short, and multiple takes of lines left unmuted causing the narration to repeat it self over the story. Until these audio issues are fixed I would highly recommend the print version. (I will also gladly change my review once an updated audio version is released)

Great story. Terrible audio editing and QC.

Loved the characters, the story, the twists, the epic scope. It took me a bit to warm to the narrator but soon I loved the narration too. One of the best audio books I've ever listened to. Amazing and wonderful. Please get out the next book ASAP! What a shame that an audio book this good has some editing flaws - please get those fixed so reviews can reflect the real quality of this book.

Fantastic story, excited for this new series

A few situations where the sound just cut off mid-sentence. and large portions of chapter 27 where sound was overlapping. made it very difficult to even follow the story much less appreciated.

Poor Editing

Gylnn Stewart has done it again . A great story with multi demtional characters. Story could stand on its own but hoping for more. Only draw back is the audible version I listened to had many overlaps retakes over new portions. poorly edited.

outstanding story
