Sarah Clark’s family endured the hardship of a wagon train journey to pursue their dream of land ownership in Kansas. The family of four scratches out a hardscrabble life on the windswept plains. Happily expecting another child, Sarah is bereft when the baby is stillborn.

When a stagecoach robbery and shoot-out take her husband’s life, Sarah must make life-altering decisions. To keep a deathbed promise to his best friend, Mark Hewett faces possible incarceration and is forced to lie to Sarah, whom he has come to love.

Can Mark keep his word and still save the family who now relies solely on him? Necessary deception holds the potential for disaster as the family struggles to survive.

Settle back & enjoy the mesmerizing story of Sarah, Samuel & their loving family in mid 1800’s. Imagine my surprise when I met the talented author, Judy Sharer, who told me the book was historically true. I can’t wait to read, or perhaps hear?, the rest of the Plain’s Life series!

Mesmerizing story

Magnificently written and hard to put down. Totally inspirational. Looking forward to sequel. Thought I lost myself a few times in time.
Wonderful read.

Found a Great Story!

I had heard this was a must listen to book;
and so very glad I did!
Judy Sharer's words transported me back in time to
a point in our country's history that was full of challenges,
but when simple pleasures were received and relished with genuine gratitude.
The history of that time was obviously well-researched,
but the story flowed naturally without feeling heavy-handed.
To find myself, smiling and even laughing at some points,
while in tears, in other places, showed the gift the Author has
for creating memorable characters that I genuinely began to care about.
The circumstances and period may be historic, but Judy Sharer's writing
drew me in to the TIMELESS choices, situations, and feelings we have in humanity today!
(I chose to speed up the pace on this audible book slightly
as it animated the readers voice to match the Author's excellent characters. )
(I do enjoy that feature on Audible. )

AN INTRIGUING DELIGHTFUL AND WELL CRAFTED BOOK
