The supposedly dead Duke of Comerford requires a wife. And quickly.

By tomorrow noon, to be precise.

Blame it on his father’s ridiculous will. A Duchess is required if he is to inherit his title.

Miss Marian has only come to plead with the surly Duke for an extension on her father’s mountainous debts. Perfect for him. If she becomes his Duchess, he’ll happily annul her father’s promissory note.

What he doesn’t know is that she has loathed him since childhood, and that she has no intention of enduring the role of Duchess for more than seven days – precisely the time she needs to put her escape plan into action.

The Duke may be a monster, but he is a man of his word. He’s determined to visit her bedchamber, night after night... until she provides him with a son and heir.

Exciting – witty – sizzling. In seven days – and nights, oh the nights! – much can happen. A standalone novel with a happily-ever-after. For adult readers only.

I so loved the giggles that escaped! A feel-good story “fairytale!” This will be a light hearted favorite! Also, it is a reminder to be kind to even the unlikable characters.

So HUMOROUS!!!!!

Premise got me to listen. And parts of it, particular scenes, worked well.
But not much stayed consistent. And there is no way in heck - absolutely no way that a young woman who had no clue how babies are made (she actually “thinks” this and guesses if she’s never alone with him surely she can’t get pregnant).
So - it was then super super weird for her to go straight to being a-okay with stripping right down and going several rounds and about three positions like no big deal. Just … what!? Stuff like that and the truly dumb reason they broke up yanked me back over and over to realizing it’s just a story someone is making up as go along.
Author has potential though. Maybe a few extra readers before publishing.

Parts work- as long as don’t expect to make sense or consistency

I thought the story had a good plot from the summary. I’m not a big fan of Justine as a narrator her voice is whiny. The male voice was perfect. I wish more. Regency romances would have two voices.
