Ryland is a tough alpha who is suddenly possessed by a shadow. It makes his temper worse and his commanding harsher. His wolves are afraid of him. Krista is a psychic that doesn’t believe in herself. She starts having visions of Ryland and herself and won’t tell him what she sees when he seeks her help. Down into the rabbit hole of feelings and awareness they go.

This book uses cult magic, premonitions, demon possession, faction fighting and more. Tie all that up with mental thoughts and you get a book worth reading more than once.

The narration was very good as there was no monotonous voice to put one asleep and emotions and voice changes helped one know which character was speaking. This is a BIG thing for me.

Wonderful Series Start

Ryland, is a handsome, way too alpha for his own good shifter. Among his less than charming attributes are a bad temper, foul attitude, and a bit more than his fare share of ego. After an encounter with a rival pack leaves him feeling “changed”, he seeks the help of Krista, a fortune teller. Krista, not fully aware of her destiny, is haunted by visions she doesn’t understand. When she meets Ryland, she recognizes him as the man from her visions and wants nothing more than to be as far away from him as she can get. Fate intervenes and while neither understands the pull they feel for each other, neither can deny it’s existence. What commences is an exciting adventure as Ryland and Krista discover that together they are stronger than either one could ever be alone. Well written and nicely narrated, this story held my interest and had me rooting for their happy ending. I look forward to what promises to be a great series.

starts off slow

even though it was hard to keep listening at first after chapter 2 I had to here what was happening. The story is great but the narrarator was hard to listen too.

Okay, this was a pretty good book, very interesting 😊. I really enjoyed it, and that ending was perfect. I would love to hear more of their story, though. the narrator did a good job too.
