Does Caleb Dimmick really work at his father’s motorcycle dealership, or does he simply ride the payroll, thereby giving his dad a nice tax break? Roy Ballard, a legal videographer specializing in insurance fraud, is hired to find out. After just a few days, Roy is convinced everything is legit - until a dealership employee is gunned down in his own backyard, possibly by an assassin on an orange sport bike. Now, with a large life insurance payout on the line, Roy needs to identify the killer. But the deeper Roy digs, the greater the risk grows, setting up a series of deadly confrontations that will shake him to his core.

I felt like the story was a bit much. There was just too much going on that it seemed like the author was throwing stuff together in a melting pot. My least favorite book in the series so far.

Boring story line!

Johnny Pepper does an amazing job as the narrator

Another Roy Ballard mystery. This time, it starts as a simple case of seeing if someone is on the payroll and working. Or just on this dad's payroll because there was an insurance claim filed. Once a murder that changes everything.

Mia is having problems due to things that happened in the previous book, although an interesting side story. This book didn't have the humor some of the others did

Have you ever read the opening of a book and it so captured your imagination and interest that you just couldn’t put it down? Shake and Bake is one of those books. I haven’t been captured by such an opening since my brother in law challenged me to read the prologue to Clive Cussler’s novel, ‘Raise the Titanic.’
Plot twists, hill country characters, and a splash of comedy make this Ben Rehder a must read.

A Masterpiece of a Mystery.

It's hard to believe how idiotic some people can be. Just plain old stupid. and yet they still live to tell the tale. I'm down with Roy's theory of a booby trap. The ending left me a bit empty. Mua is a bother to me. She doesn't seem committed and enthusiastic anymore. Is the series over???
I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a great job.

unsatisfying
