"Shepherding a Child's Heart" is about how to speak to the heart of your child. The things your child does and says flow from the heart. Luke 6: 45 puts it this way: "…out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks." Written for parents with children of any age, this insightful book provides perspectives and procedures for shepherding your child's heart into the paths of life.

In this revised edition of "Shepherding a Child's Heart," Dr. Tedd Tripp not only draws on his thirty years experience as a pastor, counselor, school administrator, and father, but he also shares insights gained in many years of teaching this material in conferences worldwide, providing more valuable help for parents.

Views on parenting were against my beliefs. While I do not claim to be an expert on child rearing. I am fairly season in my walk with God and know His Word and character well. So I disagree with the writer’s ideas on how God calls us to parent our children.

Not for me

This was a tough listen, Not only was the content VERY law driven and very much from an old testament mindset, it was also really badly edited with words cut out etc.

Some of the things said in the book "when you punish your child you tell them because God says so" Yeesh, if I was a child and my dad told me that, I would have a very warped image of God, especially when they don't apply the same measure to themselves. We don't always get things right and that is where the Grace of God comes in.... Anyway
