Her boots slip with every step she takes along the snow-packed road. Frigid air burns her nose but does nothing to cool her anger. Her boyfriend just left her on the side of the road, all alone. When she fails to come home, her parents make a frantic call to the police. All they find are her footprints in the snow and her discarded purse in the ditch.

FBI Special Agent Michael Cavanaugh is in charge of a task force to bring down a drug and human trafficking operation spread across multiple states. He brought in Bill Thompson, a former Army Special Forces operator and now an FBI Agent. The leader of this network is someone Bill has been tracking for a long time.

Miguel led a gang that invaded his hometown, killed his best friend, Raul, and shot Bill’s sister on her wedding day. Bill promised he would catch Miguel and he won’t stop until he does.

This fast-paced sequel to Fault Line keeps the action coming as Bill Thompson closes in on his quarry. Fans of Jack Carr, Vince Flynn, Brad Thor, and Daniel Silva are sure to find this a worthy listen.

In her anger at her boyfriend, she exits their car on a lonely snow covered road. He promptly gets aggravated and abandons her. The frigid snow air and the long walk she has ahead of her are nothing compared to what actually happens. FBI Special Agent Michael Cavanaugh brings in Bill Thompson a former Army Special Forces and FBI agent to help him solve and stop the drug and human trafficking operation that spans across the US and beyond. Both men have their own reasons behind this job but what they discover is mind-numbing and devastating.

The author, T. L. Scott drives home, in a unique and poignant style, that sometimes anger gets the best of us, and we make stupid decisions. This audiobook is a horrifying novel with nightmare-inducing tragedies that are too real to ignore. Although fictional, Scott provides more insight into the depravity of humans and the lengths they will go to meet their own perverted needs and experiences. Vivid details to the story and character development add to the listening experience. An action-packed thriller filled with captivating atrocities and more. The plot twists are unexpected and add to the emotional experience and enhance the story further.

The narrator, Randy McCarten takes an already intense storyline and amplifies the horror and emotional impact this story carries from beginning to ending. He speaks clearly and with the energy needed to relay this story. The nuances he inflects in his voice accurately convey the emotion of each character from a cold-blooded killer to a young, innocent child.

This is an emotionally moving story that brings the everyday headlines of human trafficking to the forefront and how easy it is to fall into their hands. There are no light moments or humor in this book. It is intense from beginning to end. A must-listen!

There were no issues with the quality or production of this audiobook.
