What will you do when the sickness comes knocking?

Kit Easton had struggled her entire life. Things couldn't possibly have gotten any worse for her...until the day they did. Her mother was dying, her husband had long ago become the enemy, they were down to their last dime, and her daughter had distanced herself to avoid everyone and everything.

When Kit's sister takes their mother to New York for what is supposed to be a revolutionary, life-saving cure, a disaster no one could have predicted strikes. But it isn't just Kit's family that is affected, it rocks the entire world.

Now, with nothing but the help of a neighbor she barely knows, Kit must venture out into the dangerous new world in search of her family. Will she be able to find them before it's too late?

Dull Did not make me to want more.

Moved at a fast pace. Unrealistic luck and super fast character development of female lead. I never really liked romance stories but this is okay.

Kinda zombie story

Patricia Santomasso has a wonderful voice for narration. This makes the listen much easier.
More later.
Almost halfway through, the story is getting better and better. As different characters are introduced, they seem to melt right into the narrative, the characters are not forced upon us. They just fit.
I'm not the best at reviews, but for me just being halfway through is a good thing. I couldn't get past one or 2 chapters if the abook wasn't good.

I've added an additional star to the "Overall rating" for Kellee Greene's writing style and for Patricia Santomasso's wonderful style in her narration.

What’s next?! I want more. Narrater, characters all delightful! How many series are continuing with this book?

Great story

I felt the story's premise was okay. The protagonist mom seemed smart at first but ended up two-dimensional. She was constantly wanting to go into the city to rescue a loved one, but her decisions were so emotional, they also put everyone else at risk. For lack of a more eloquent way to put it, her relative the mom and her companions rescued was a rude, ungrateful brat. I will listen to the rest of the books since I foolishly bought them already - I really hope the story gets better in subsequent books.
